Specimen Submission Guidelines
Complete the requisition form
Fill in all patient demographics, clinical history, and specimen site. Incomplete forms delay processing.
Label all containers
Each container must show patient name, DOB, and specimen site. Labels must match the requisition exactly.
Fix in formalin & package
Place tissue in 10% neutral buffered formalin (supplied by our lab). Use a biohazard bag. Maintain room temperature during transport.
Receive your report
Results delivered via fax, portal, or direct call. Critical findings are called immediately.

TAT begins on specimen receipt. Ordering provider notified if additional time needed.

Pathologist On-Call
A board-certified pathologist is available for consultation, critical value notification, and frozen section support during business hours. After-hours STAT calls accepted.
