Why did I receive a bill from Summit Pathology?
If you had a biopsy, surgery, or procedure, your physician likely sent a tissue specimen to our laboratory. Pathology is billed separately from your physician visit or hospital stay — this is standard in medicine.
The pathologist who analyzed your specimen is a physician specialist, billing independently just as an anesthesiologist bills separately from a surgeon.
